Ultrasound therapy is a widely used treatment in physical therapy and rehabilitation for managing pain and promoting healing. By utilizing sound waves to penetrate deep into tissues, ultrasound therapy helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and accelerate the body's natural healing process. This non-invasive and painless treatment is beneficial for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

Ultrasound therapy involves the use of high-frequency sound waves, typically ranging from 1 to 3 MHz, which are delivered through a handheld transducer applied to the skin with a conductive gel. These sound waves generate deep heat and micro-massage effects that enhance cellular activity, promote blood flow and stimulate tissue repair.

Conditions that respond favorably to ultrasound include: musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, joint and osft tissue conditions, post-surgical and chronic pain management. A typical ultrasound therapy session lasts between 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the treatment area and condition. The therapist applies a conductive gel to the skin and moves the transducer in circular motions over the affected area. Patients usually experience a mild warming sensaiton or no sensation at all during the procedure.
